Your Ambition Is Not a Ladder | Aswin Sundharam | Romancelovesophy

The mind gives you ambition so you never look down. Beneath every goal, every drive, every climb is a ground. A substratum. Reality itself. You are not trying to reach it. You are that reality. But the mind keeps you busy chasing the next thing so you never feel what is already here. We think ambition is a ladder. It is not. It is the mind’s way of staying busy so it does not have to face its own absence. Look at your life. The moment a goal is reached, the mind scrambles for the next one. That panic between ambitions is the silence the mind cannot tolerate. Because in that silence, the foundation beneath all thinking becomes visible. And the mind is noise. Silence is its death. Stop climbing. Face the absence. What notices when the mind finally stops? That question is not for answering.
