Why You're Always Tired — And It's Not Your Sleep

Why You're Always Tired — And It's Not Your Sleep

Have you ever slept for 8 hours and woken up in the morning and still felt exhausted? We all have felt it, right? We slept for 8 hours like a cow and still woke up like a water buffalo, right? Nothing particularly difficult has happened yet. You have not gone to work. You have not dealt with anyone. You have barely started your day, and somehow you already feel tired. Have you ever felt it? So you tell yourself that you need more sleep, maybe a holiday, maybe a few days away from everyone, maybe life would feel better if you could just get some more rest, or go to a retreat, or follow the feet of some guru, and so on and so on and so on and so on, right? We all have done that. But what if the problem is not that you are tired? What if you are carrying something that sleep cannot fix? Have you ever given a thought about that? What if the problem is not with the sleep, but something that cannot be fixed by sleep? You are not tired. You are afraid. Actually, this is the truth. Not afraid about an animal or a horror movie in your dream, but afraid about something far deeper. Think about it. How many things are you avoiding right now? A conversation you need to have, or a decision you need to make, a life you know you want but you are too frightened to pursue. You keep postponing these things, telling yourself that you will deal with them when you have more energy, and so on and so on. But somehow the energy never comes. This is the whole problem. And here's the interesting part. You think you are tired to face your problems, but sometimes you are tired precisely because you keep avoiding them. That is the whole truth. What you cannot face, you call fatigue.

Imagine lying in bed at night. Your body is comfortable. The room is small and quiet and cozy and blah blah blah. There is nothing you need to do at that moment. Yet your mind starts bringing up everything you have been avoiding. Right? Am I doing anything meaningful with my life? Did I watch the most beautiful anime recently? Or what if I fail? What if people reject me? What if I spend years trying to become something and discover that I have wasted my life or wasted my time? Right? And suddenly you are exhausted again. You see, these questions do not require physical energy. They consume something else. They keep you mentally occupied even when your body is doing absolutely nothing. So a rested body cannot heal the haunted mind. We all must keep that in our head. We think if we take enough rest, or go to some meditation retreat, or have some massage, things will work out. No. You cannot heal, or you cannot soothe the wound from outside. A wound that is soothed by outside is bound to end up in more wounds. I'm not talking about physical wound, but mental wound. Only you have to face your emotions and heal them naturally. A rested body alone cannot heal a haunted mind. This is why some people can sleep throughout the night and still wake up feeling terrible. Their bodies have rested, but their minds have spent the night worrying about tomorrow, regretting yesterday, and imagining everything that could go wrong. They imagine World War 31 happening, or they imagine their war with their families, and so on and so on. Stillness is not rest, and silence is not peace. And this is becoming a strange feature of modern life. We have more ways to entertain ourselves than ever before, right? We can watch videos, listen to music, scroll through social media and watch people like me talk, blabber, and so on and so on, or play video games and talk to people whenever we want. Yet many people cannot sit alone for 10 minutes without reaching for their phones. Why? Because the moment the entertainment stops, something else wakes up like a monster. Their own thoughts return. The question they have been avoiding returns. The uncomfortable feeling that something in their lives needs attention returns. So they open another application, watch another video, go to another guru, another spirituality, another book, another meditation, and so on and so on and so on and so on. But never question the questioner. How pathetic we all have become, or we all find another distraction. They are not necessarily tired of working. Sometimes they are tired of running away from themselves. We run from the silence and then complain that we feel breathless. We are all total idiots, actually. Now let us make one important distinction. There is nothing wrong with being tired. If you work hard, exercise, take care of your family, or spend an entire day doing something meaningful, of course you will need rest. Your body has limits, and respecting those limits is important. I'm not trying to be pathetic over here. I'm trying to be real. But there is a difference between being tired because you have done something and being exhausted because you cannot bring yourself to do something. Are you seeing what I'm seeing? Work spends the body. Worry spends the self. Think about a person who works physically for 8 hours. At the end of the day, that person may be exhausted. But there is often a certain satisfaction in knowing that the work is finished. Right? Now, think about someone who spends 8 hours worrying about making a decision, whether to watch anime or a movie or an animation movie, or to spend life like an idiot. I'm just joking. Hope you get the point. So they have not made the decision. They have not solved the problem. They have not moved forward. Yet they can feel just as exhausted. Sometimes even more exhausted. Why? Because the mind has been working without reaching a conclusion. You keep going back and forth. Should I do it? What if I fail? What if people will think? What if my guru thinks? What if my God thinks? And so on and so on. What if I regret it? Perhaps I should wait a little longer, longer, and wait for goddesses and God's blessings to happen on me. Let me be clear here. God's blessing, your God's blessing, is already there on you. But if you remain like a pathetic guy who closed the doors and windows of his heart and complains to fate and God, nobody can come and save you. God's grace is equal. It shines like the sun on everything, including the trash and including the greatest monument on earth. But if you, as I said, close the doors of your heart, don't complain. This is the truth. I myself have sat and cried to Goddess Davyi to take me away from the situation that I did not want to face, and then I figured out I fell into the trap. I suffered, and then I blamed her. How pathetic we all have become. It is important to see that

you see, and tomorrow when all these things happen, we keep repeating the same conversations in our head, right? You repeat the same conversation in your head and keep worrying. Nothing is heavier than a decision that is never made. Here is where things become interesting, really interesting. Sometimes you are not exhausted by your responsibilities. You are exhausted by the life you keep postponing. You want to write something, but you are afraid people will laugh at you. Look at me. When I began social media, even I thought, what if people say, what if people mock at me, make fun of me because of my English, and so on and so on and so on? Who cares? Let me tell you my secret. We are living in 2026. 2027 is around the corner. I just can't believe it. So what I'm trying to point out is that by now it should be obvious to people that we should not listen to people. 99% of the world is filled with trash. Not on earth, but the trash inside, in our head. You still care what people say? Don't be an idiot, man. Don't fool yourself. You should not care what people say. Actually, it should be obvious by now. That is the truth. This is what people think, right? We are all afraid that people will laugh at us. You want to leave a situation that makes you miserable, but you're afraid of what comes next. You want to tell someone how you feel, but you're afraid of rejection. So you do nothing. But doing nothing does not make the problem disappear. You carry the decision into tomorrow. And tomorrow becomes another day of carrying it. You are exhausted by what you do not do.

So bad. The conversations you never have, the truth you never admit, the opportunity you never take—these things remain in your mind because you have not brought them to an end. Face your feelings. Face your emotions. Don't be cowards running into spirituality ashrams because you cannot face your emotions. If you want to become divine, if you want to know the truth, face it. If you want to remain the rest of your life like a guy who prefers candies, then run away. This is the truth. You will become wise not by running away, but by facing your situations and emotions like brave people. And the strange thing is that you often spend more energy avoiding a difficult moment than you would spend actually going through it. You might worry about a conversation for 3 weeks only to discover that the conversation itself lasts 10 minutes. You might spend months imagining how badly a new project could fail while never giving yourself a chance to discover whether it could succeed. Fear makes the imaginary experience longer than the real one. But there is something deeper happening here, far deeper than whatever I see. You are afraid because you have choices. If your entire life were already decided, if every step were guaranteed to lead somewhere good, you would have very little reason to worry about your next move. But your life does not offer you guarantees. You have to choose without knowing everything. You have to act without knowing whether you will succeed. You have to build a future that does not yet exist. This is the truth. Anxiety is the shadow cast by freedom. And that is an uncomfortable truth. You want the freedom to create your own life, but you also want someone to guarantee that your choices will never hurt you. Don't be an idiot. Don't fool yourself. You want to take risks without experiencing uncertainty. How is that? You want to change without losing anything. What nonsense. But you cannot have complete control over an uncertain life. Only the free can tremble. So perhaps the answer is not to eliminate every feeling of fear before doing anything meaningful. You have been waiting for a feeling that is never going to arrive. You keep telling yourself, once I feel confident I will start, or once I feel ready I will make the decision, or once I stop worrying I will finally live, or once the blessings come I will move forward. But confidence often comes after you act, not before. Clarity often comes after you take the first step, and not while you're sitting there imagining every possible outcome. To feel the dizziness is to stand at the edge of your own possibility. Unfortunately, the world does not make this any easier. Everywhere you look, someone is selling you a solution to your discomfort: an application to improve your sleep, a routine to make you more productive, a video to motivate you, and so on and so on, another technique to help you relax and blah blah blah. You see, some of these things can genuinely help. I'm not denying them like an idiot. Rest matters. Health routines matter. Professional support can make a real difference when anxiety becomes difficult to manage. But there is a problem when you use every solution to avoid asking what is actually wrong. You can become very good at managing your discomfort without ever addressing it. A cure for the symptom is a lease on the disease. So let us try something different. The next time you find yourself saying "I am tired," do not immediately assume that you need to escape your life for a few days. Don't be an idiot. Pause and ask yourself one question: What am I avoiding? You see, from my own experience, when I got separated from my first lover and moved on, it was very difficult for me to think that she's going to love someone and marry someone. It used to break me. I'm not necessarily saying she married someone. I don't know what is happening with her. But what I'm trying to point out is, at the time when we were separated, I used to think, what if she marries someone else? And that thought used to break me, shatter me, and I used to cry because I could simply not imagine her moving on happily while I'm sitting and crying and thinking of her. Right? So this is what I learned at the time. I started contemplating. I have this very good quality of contemplating things deeply. So I contemplated: why am I feeling this? Why am I avoiding? What's the problem if she marries someone else? Then the wisdom came. That is the thing. Sometimes we have to pause and ask the question, what am I avoiding? That is the truth. Once you face what you're avoiding, wisdom will skyrocket within you. I'm telling you from my experience. You will become God the moment you face your life. Don't run away from your life. Face it. It's not a monster. It's a good friend who is trying to show you the truth. So you must ask the question: what am I avoiding? Once you face what you're avoiding, you will move forward in your life like a rocket direct to the goal. Perhaps you are afraid that you are not good enough. Perhaps you are afraid of disappointing your family. Perhaps you are afraid that the people you love will leave you. Let me tell you, nobody's permanent. People will leave you. Don't fool yourself thinking somebody's going to stay with you throughout your life. Even after your death, even the purest person who loved you, their tears also won't reach you. So don't fool yourself. Or perhaps you have spent so much time trying to meet other people's expectations that you no longer know what you actually want. Whatever the answer is, give yourself a chance to hear it. You do not have to solve your entire life tonight. Don't fool yourself. You do not have to make every difficult decision immediately. You only need to stop pretending that you do not know where the discomfort is coming from. And deep down you already have an idea. You have to just face it. You see, the fear named is half the fear tamed. This is the truth. Think about the things you have been most afraid to do. How many of them turned out to be as terrible as you imagined? Tell me. Very less. How many difficult conversations ended with a word continuing as usual? How many mistakes that once felt unbearable have become ordinary memories?

See your own life, then wisdom will come. Fear has a way of making tomorrow look like a disaster before tomorrow has even arrived. That is the funny thing. And when you finally face the situation, you often discover that reality is much smaller than the version your mind created. The road you fear is shorter than the fear of the road. This does not mean everything will work out the way you want. Life doesn't work like that. Sometimes you will fail. It's okay. Sometimes people will misunderstand you. It's okay. Sometimes you will make the wrong decisions and have to live with the consequences. It's totally okay. Only fools don't take the lesson. Be wise. Take the lesson and move forward. But even then you will have something you cannot get from endless worrying: an actual experience from which you can learn. A failed attempt can teach you something. A difficult conversation can give you clarity. A rejected opportunity can help you understand what you need to improve. But an opportunity you never take can teach you very little. Be more afraid of the unlived life than of the failed one. Are you seeing what I'm seeing? Consider how much of your life you might be sacrificing just to avoid feeling uncomfortable. You may be protecting yourself from rejection, but you are also protecting yourself from connection. You may be avoiding failure, but you are also avoiding the possibility of achievement. You may be refusing to make the wrong choice, but you're also refusing to make any choice at all. And one day you may discover that the life you were trying so hard to protect was the very life you were preventing yourself from living. Regret is the only debt that grows when you refuse to pay it. Now I know what some of you might be thinking. You might say that you cannot simply stop worrying. You have responsibilities. You have bills to pay. I do have bills to pay. Everybody has responsibilities. Or you have people depending on you. You cannot abandon everything and spend your day searching for answers. Of course, you cannot. And that is not what I am suggesting. I'm not trying to be an idiot saying give up everything, oh, follow spirituality, worship your god, and forget your family duties. Only fools abandon their worldly duties. Those who truly know spirituality or wisdom live in the world and do their duties like brave people. Only cowards run from all these things. You see, you do not need to abandon your responsibilities. You need to stop abandoning yourself while fulfilling them. You can work hard and still be honest about your feelings. You can care for your family without pretending that everything is fine. You can meet your obligations while gradually making changes to the parts of your life that are hurting you. A person divided against themselves serves no one well. Keep that in your mind. Start small. Give yourself 10 minutes without your phone. Sit quietly and write down what has been troubling you. If you are worried about something specific, name it. If there is a decision you have been avoiding, write down the decision. If you know there is a conversation you need to have, acknowledge it. Do not immediately judge yourself for feeling afraid. You are not going to solve every problem by writing it on a piece of paper, of course. But you may finally stop carrying every problem as an enormous undefined weight. And sometimes that is where the change begins. Those who have become wise are the ones who have faced their life, not run away from their life. Keep this in your mind. What is heard grows quiet. What is silenced grows loud. You may discover that the problem is not as complicated as you thought. Perhaps you need to apologize to someone, or perhaps you need to establish a boundary, or you need to admit that a particular ambition no longer matters to you, or you need to begin something you have postponed for years. It's okay. Or you need help from someone who understands what you're going through. Whatever it is, you can begin by acknowledging it instead of spending another month trying to distract yourself from it or run away into spirituality and abandon your worldly duties. Don't do that. And slowly you may find that the rest begins to feel different. You're no longer lying in bed rehearsing a conversation that has not happened. You're no longer spending your every small moment or quiet moment imagining disaster. You're no longer trying to escape a question that follows you everywhere. Peace is not the absence of question, but the end of the running. Of course, you will still experience anxiety. Let me tell you the truth. Nobody's free of it. You are human. Life will continue to surprise you, and uncertainty will continue to be part of it. Wise are those who accept the duality of the world. Only fools run away from it. Sometimes you will need physical rest. Sometimes you will need to talk to someone. Sometimes you will need to take a break and give yourself time to recover. And sometimes what you need most is to do the thing you have been avoiding. It is important that we see it that way. Courage is fear that has decided to walk. It is as simple as that. You do not need to become fearless. You need to stop making the absence of fear a condition for living. Make the phone call while you are nervous. Start the project while you are uncertain. Tell the truth while your voice trembles. It's okay. Take the first step while the part of you is still asking whether you are making a mistake. You can be afraid and still move forward. That's how all of us have been doing things. And the next time you say "I'm tired," take a moment to understand what you really mean by that. If your body is exhausted, rest. Don't be like those spiritual people saying, "What is God trying to teach me?" God is not trying to teach you anything. If God really appeared in front of you, God would say, "Sleep, take rest." That's what God would say. God would not come and tell you, "I'm trying to teach you nonattachment to your body." God doesn't work like that. Okay? It is you who put meaning onto God. God never said that I will torture you to tell you what the truth is. God says your torture is born because of your ignorance. I am only telling you, see the truth. That's what God would say. You do not need to earn the right to sleep by destroying yourself first. But if you're physically rested and still feel weighed down by something you cannot explain, look at it a little closer. Sit in solitude and silence and contemplate. Ask yourself whether there is fear, a decision, or an unresolved problem that needs your attention. Because you are that awareness on which all these things that I just named exist. You are not what you know. You are not what is known. You are that on which knowing and the unknown are existing. This is the truth, whether you like it or not or believe it or not. Then choose one small practical step. Write the message. Make the appointment. Begin the work. Have the conversation. If the problem is beyond what you can manage alone, reach out for appropriate support. Do not confuse endless thinking with progress. Some sleep is only found by waking up. That is the thing. And here's something I want you to understand. You see, you are not behind simply because someone else seems to have figured out their life. You are not a failure because you have doubts. You are not wasting your life simply because you need time to understand what matters to you. You do not have to live according to somebody else's time. Don't be fools. But you do have to be honest about the difference between taking your time and hiding from your life. One allows you to grow, the other keeps you in the same place while years pass like cows passing. You see, the only clock that matters is the one you stop to listen. So listen to yourself—not to every passing thought and not to every frightening possibility your mind produces, but to the real concerns you have been refusing to acknowledge. Perhaps the uncomfortable feeling is telling you that something needs to change. Perhaps it is telling you that you have been living for approval rather than meaning. Or perhaps it is telling you that you are exhausted from pretending to be someone you are not. You do not need to turn every uncomfortable feeling into a grand explanation like an idiot. Sometimes you are simply tired. Sometimes you need a good night's sleep. But when the exhaustion keeps returning even after you have rested, it is worth paying attention. What you called your weakness was only your conscience clearing its throat. Tonight, before you reach for your phone and disappear into another hour of pathetic scrolling, give yourself a moment. Ask what you have been avoiding. Ask what you are afraid might happen if you finally face it. Then ask yourself what you would do if you no longer needed a guarantee that everything worked out perfectly. You may not find every answer tonight. That is fine. The point is not to solve your entire existence before going to bed. The point is to stop treating yourself like a stranger whose discomfort you would rather ignore. Are you understanding what I'm saying? Basically, I'm just trying to tell you: face your life like a brave guy or a brave woman. Listen to what is happening inside you. Be honest about what hurts. Give your body the rest it needs and give your life the attention it deserves. Because sometimes the exhaustion you keep trying to escape is connected to something you have been trying to tell yourself for a very, very long time. The soul does not ask for comfort. It asks for the truth, and then only then for comfort. And perhaps that is where everything begins. Now, when you finally become—see, not when you finally become fearless; this does not happen that way. Not when every problem disappears and so on and so on. Not when you wake up one morning with unlimited energy and complete certainty about your future. That will never happen. But when you stop running from the things you already know. No, what I'm trying to point out is, when you stop running from the thing that is already within you, you get wisdom. The anxiety you keep calling tiredness will not disappear overnight. Tiredness may not disappear overnight. But you can begin to understand it. You can learn to distinguish physical exhaustion from emotional distress. You can face the decisions you have postponed and seek help when you need it. You can stop spending all your energy trying to escape a life that is asking you to participate in it. So the next time you feel tired, do not immediately ask how you can get away from everything. Ask what needs your attention, and then, whatever the answer may be, take the honest next step. Open the door, and then things will move forward. It's as simple as that. But don't think that you are the one who is having all this anxiety and so on and so on. You are that awareness on which the entire drama of the world is happening. You are that unblemished, ridiculously pure, absurdly—the awareness on which the entire show of this world is existing. Whether you like it or not or believe it or not, you hold the universe with 1% of your power. If I have to tell it poetically, you are not what you know. Keep that in your mind. You are beyond all knowing, beyond all observing, beyond all witnessing. You're just aware. You are not the observer, nor the witness, nor the knower, nor anything. You're just pure unblemished awareness. You're already divine and already liberated. But if you believe that you are a pathetic human being who needs the blessings of God to be liberated, nobody can come and save you. All I'm saying is that turn your mind within and figure out things for yourself. Then you'll understand that you have always been awareness and nothing else. It's very simple. All that is required of you is to recognize it. And that recognition is not done by you or the mind, but by the act of recognizing. Ultimately I will conclude my speech by saying: follow the message, not the messenger. You are the self-aware reality which is the substratum of all, whether you like it or not or believe it or not. Thank you.
