Who Am I? The One Asking Is the Answer

We all expect an answer. We expect a philosophy, a concept, a stepping stone, or a practice, and things like that. And you expect me to give you a mirror so you can finally look at yourself. I will not give any of those things. If you are looking for comfort, leave now, because I'm not going to give you comfort. If you're looking for a method to improve your personality, you're in the wrong place. I'm not here to decorate the prison that we all have built within ourselves. You see, we all ask, "Who am I?" And I tell you, the one asking is the answer. Look at this question. Where does it come from? It comes from the mind that believes it is lacking something. It comes from a phantom that believes it is bound and therefore must seek liberation, and things like that. You believe you are this body, a decaying sack of flesh, bone, and blood tied to time and destined for dust, and things like that. You believe you are the mind, and you think that you are the chaotic storm within yourself, but all these things are just borrowed thoughts, memories, anxieties, and desires. You identify with your name, your history, your failures, and your achievements. You are none of those things. You are not the earth. You are not the water. You are not the fire. You are not the air. You are not the space. You are the self-aware reality on which the entire thing that I just named exists. You see, the thing is that we are all like the king, you know, sitting on the throne, but we are begging for a copper coin. You are that infinite ocean desperately searching for a drop of water. You seek an answer outside, in books, in teachings, in futures that do not exist, and also mailing me, and things like that. While the answer is the very one doing the looking. Let us examine the inquirer. When the thought arises, "Who am I?" Who sees this thought? Do not answer the thought. Look, the thought appears. It hovers for a moment. It vanishes. And what remains? You remain. That is the truth. You are the silent screen upon which the question appears and disappears. You are the awareness that knows the mind is asking. The mind cannot know you, because the mind is an object known by you. A shadow cannot eliminate the sun. The one who is asking the question is the movement of mind. But the one who knows the asking, the silent, formless, motionless witness, that is who you are. The question and the questioner are both illusions. The witness of the illusion is the only true reality, and you are the self-aware reality. Therefore, the one asking is the answer. There is no destination to reach. There's no state to achieve. You are the destination. You are the state. You are the supreme pure awareness right now, in this very fraction of a second, whether you like it or not, or believe it or not. You see, you believe you are bound by karma. We all believed it, including me initially. People told me, "You are going through this because of your karma; that is happening because of your karma." But those are all absolute childish stuff. We believe we are bound by karma, by the world, by our past. This is the ultimate arrogance of the ego. Actually, the truth is that you are not bound. You have never been bound. You are eternally free. And this is the truth. People for generations together have fooled us by saying we need to attain liberation, because how can a wave attain ocean? How can a fire attain heat? It cannot, because you are already the self-aware reality. The one who wants to achieve is the character. The character will go through whatever it has to go through. The character will go through emotions like happiness. The character will watch anime. The character will play video games. The character will get married, and all these things. But you are not the character. You are the self-aware reality on which the character itself is even existing. The very idea that you are in bondage is the only bondage. The idea that you need to be liberated is the very chain that holds you. It is as absurd as the sky weeping because it believes it is trapped by the clouds. The clouds come and go. The sky remains untouched. You are the untouched sky of consciousness or awareness. The world, the body, the mind—they are just clouds passing through you. They do not sustain you. They do not alter you. You are the simply absolutely self-aware reality, and you have always been free. The only cause of your apparent bondage is that you see the witness as something other than yourself. Abandon the desire for liberation, because you are only fooling yourself. You're already liberated. The one who seeks is a creation of mind. The desire for liberation is still a desire, and a desire is a domain of the mind. How can the mind free you from the mind? It cannot. Drop the seeker, drop the journey, drop the story, because we are all already the self-aware reality. And I'm not joking. You see, what is the self? What is this eye that remains when all false identifications are burnt away? You see, that has no form. It has no boundaries. It was not born, and it will not die. It is not a person. It is not an entity. It is pure, luminous, simply self-aware reality in you. The infinite universe arises and subsides like waves on the ocean. You are the ocean. You are not the wave. And do not identify, do not identify with the rising and falling. You are the one who is unattached, actually formless, and without any disturbance. And I'm not joking by saying this. You are that intelligence which actually lights up the world. Without you, there is nothing. And this is the truth, whether you like it or not. You see, when you say "I," do not mean the body. Do not mean the mind. Let "I" mean the boundless, empty, awake space in which everything is happening. And this is the truth. You do not need to become the truth, because you are already the truth. All that needs to happen is the removal of all that is unwanted. You see, when you need space in the room, you don't add space in the room. You only remove the unwanted furniture, and what remains is space. Similarly, when you remove all that is unwanted within you, what remains is absolute self-aware reality. And the removing will naturally happen when you see false as false. That is why I emphasize silence and solitude, because your true nature is absolute silence. Ultimately, I will conclude my speech by saying that follow the message, not the messenger. I'm doing all the social media just to make a living and for the joy of speaking alone. You are the self-aware reality, which is the substratum of all, whether you like it or not, or believe it or not. Thank you.
