We Say We Want Peace, But We Prepare for War

We Say We Want Peace, But We Prepare for War

We say we want peace, but we prepare for what? How does that work? We say we want security, right? But we keep building weapons in this world. We say we want cooperation, but we keep preparing for the day when cooperation fails. Do you see the contradiction? I do not think this contradiction is accidental. I think it tells us something very deeply stupid about human beings. Let us decode it slowly.

Suppose I tell you I want to live peacefully with my neighbor. That sounds reasonable. But then I build a huge wall between our houses. I buy weapons. I install cameras everywhere. I train myself every day to fight him. I keep studying his movements. I keep asking what he might do if he becomes dangerous, and so on and so on. Then one day I tell my neighbor, "I only want peace." Would you believe me completely? Probably not. Because our actions are often more honest than our words.

Now, this is where I think the real problem begins when it comes to society, human beings, the world, and so on and so on. Human beings have created a civilization where our words say one thing and our preparations say another. We say peace. Our preparations say uncertainty. Even spiritual people are like that. They say they are not gurus, but they go on building ashrams, organizations, conducting seminars, Zoom calls, and so on and so on. Why are we like that?

And perhaps the most disturbing thing is that both sides can sincerely believe they are the peaceful ones. That is the tragedy. A country can say, "We need weapons because we want peace." Another country can hear that and say, "They are becoming dangerous, therefore we also need weapons." So the first country sees the second country's weapons and says, "See, we were right to prepare." The second country looks at the first country's weapons and says exactly the same thing. Now we have a circle. Now nobody needs to believe that they are the villain. Everyone can believe they are just defending themselves. And this is how absurdity becomes organized. It becomes policy. It becomes budgets. It becomes factories. You see, and once something becomes normal, people stop asking whether it makes sense. That's how human beings are.

Look at the world today. Countries are worried about supply chains, energy, technology, critical minerals, borders, security, and so on and so on and so on. Right? There are so many things which we even don't know that are happening. The BRICS summit itself discusses many of these issues while also warning about military spending and nuclear dangers. Right? This is not necessarily hypocrisy in the simple sense. It is something deeper. It is fear. A country does not need to hate another country to prepare for a war. It only needs to fear what the other country might do. And fear is enough.

Think about an ordinary human relationship. You may trust your friend, but if somebody tells you, "Be careful, man. One day this person might betray you." I'm telling you from my experience. Then what happens? Something will change within you. You begin watching. You begin interpreting. A late reply becomes suspicious, and so on and so on. Or a strange expression becomes suspicious. Right? This is how it is. Soon you are no longer responding to the person as you did before. You are responding to your imagination about the person.

Countries can behave in the same way. There is no difference in that. One country looks at another country and asks, "What if? What if they attack? What if they block the trade? What if they control this technology? Or what if they gain more influence?" And so on and so on, right? And suddenly billions of dollars are spent answering questions that begin with two words: "What if?"

You see, for me, this is one of the greatest ironies of civilization. We build weapons to feel safe, but the existence of those weapons makes everyone feel less safe. Right? Let me say that again because my English went haywire. The existence of these weapons makes everyone else feel less safe. Actually, then they build more weapons. Then they feel less safe. They build even more. And everyone calls this security. It is like two people standing in a dark room with knives in their hands, both saying, "I am holding this knife because I'm afraid of you." Of course, the fear is real. But the solution becomes part of the problem.

And this is why I find the idea of peace so complicated and so narrow-minded. Peace is not simply the absence of war. Peace is also the absence of constant psychological preparation for war. See, this is important. If my mind is always preparing to fight you, can I really say I am at peace with you? Perhaps not. The same applies to nations. A world can have no world war today and still be psychologically organized around war.

Why? Because human beings do not know who they are. We all think that we are these silly, pathetic creatures having body, mind, desires, and searching towards the ultimate truth. Absolutely not. Only narrow-minded people think that. You are the unblemished awareness on which the entire drama of the world is happening. Now this can be understood not by listening to me, not by following me, not by reading me, not by watching my videos, or anything about me. Definitely you will gain wisdom, but you will not see the truth because you listen to me. You are the truth.

You see, you are not searching for yourself. You are searching from yourself. You are that unblemished awareness which is only witnessing this entire drama without involving in it. You are like the screen which doesn't care if it is a James Bond movie or a Christopher Nolan movie or a movie by some random person. You do nothing, but without you nothing can be done. That is the power you hold. But we, like apathetic creatures, hold on to simple concepts of philosophy, simple concepts of this and that, and suffer.

You are awareness. You have the entire kingdom by your side. But you search for a few coins that are fallen down on the roads of your kingdom, which is nothing but a few silly experiences from this world. Turn your mind within and see for yourself that you are divine from day one. I'm not talking about the body and mind. I'm talking about the real you, which only watches all this drama without involving in it. Once you see that you are the truth, then you will simply become an expression of nature. I'm not saying you will become a perfect human being. All that I'm saying is that you will understand there was never a human being. There was only that reality appearing as duality from day one.
